FAQ-Boat Shade Questions
What comes with Sebba Shade?
- The shade canopy
- Multiple straps with clips of various lengths
- One pump valve adapter
- NOTE: Pump sold separately
How large is it when unrolled and inflated? 12’-4” x 8’-4”; it is HUGE!
How heavy is Sebba shade? Total weight of the shade, straps, and backpack = 17 lbs (7.7 kg)
How big is the backpack? 24” tall by 14” wide when filled with Sebba Shade and straps.
Does the entire shade inflate? No, just the perimeter and the two struts across the middle.
Can it be used on a boat that doesn’t have a T-top, arch, or bimini? No. It needs something to rest on.
How does it attach to the boat? Stainless steel clips and buckle straps of various lengths are provided to attach to just about anything on a boat.
Does it float? Yes, but it is not meant to be used as a floaty/flotation device.
Can I lay on top of it while it is floating in the water? NO! This is dangerous. It can fold over on itself, wrap around a human and then sink. This can cause serious injury or death.
How long does it take to inflate? About one minute with a double action (or triple action) hand pump or about two minutes with an electric pump. That's right, a hand pump is actually faster than an electric pump, but either way it is just a minute or two.
Does a pump come with the Sebba Shade? No, just like the pumps used for kiteboarding, stand up paddle boards (SUP), and blow up kayaks, they are sold separately. In fact, those same pumps can also be used with Sebba Shade
What pressure is required for inflation? Set your electric pump to 6.0 - 8.0 PSI MAXIMUM. For comparison, Stand Up Paddleboards are typically inflated to 12-15 PSI (and take much longer to inflate). If Sebba Shade is inflated over 8.0 it may rupture. If pumped up to 10 PSI, for example, it will burst! 6.5 PSI is recommended. Warranty is void if inflated over 8.0 PSI.
What kind of pump do you recommend? There are dozens of choices ranging from $40 to $140. Search for "kiteboarding pump or “stand up paddleboard pump” and choose one.
Can you do custom logos and print and colors? Not at this time, but in the near future.
Can I use it on windy days? With care and correct handling, yes. See instruction manual provided with your purchase.
Can it be used “underway”? Yes, Sebba Shade is sturdy and strong. However, be careful and use common sense. Use at your own risk over 30 mph. Be sure that it does not block your line of sight in all directions.
Can it pop? Yes, if overinflated or handled incorrectly, it can pop. Make sure it does not come in contact with sharp objects such as fishing hooks, etc. Treat Sebba Shade with care and Sebba Shade will take care of you.
What do I do if it pops? Locate the hole and patch it with the provided patch kit. Watch our video for how to locate the hole and how to patch it. If you would rather we patch the hole, then send it back to us and we will repair it for you. Repair fees may apply.
Can I return it if I don’t like it? Yes. If for any reason you are not satisfied with Sebba Shade, return it undamaged within 30 days for a full refund.
What is the warranty policy? Sebba Shade will be free from defects for a period of 1 (one) year from the date of purchase. See warranty HERE.
