What are the differences between the 8x12 and 6x9? The 8x12 has metal carabiner clips while the 6x9 has improved fabric cord fasteners. The 8x12 center section zips open for T-top gear, the 6x9 does not zip open. When traveling at high speeds, the 8x12 needs extra straps to fasten to the gunwale; the 6x9 only needs four short straps attached to the T-Top. The 8x12 has vent flaps in the canopy, the 6x9 doesn't require vents.
Which size is better for my boat? The 6x9 model is the better option for the vast majority of boats. While still huge at over 6 ft. x 9 ft. and over 54 sq. ft., it is easier to handle (inflate, reposition, deflate, roll up, stuff in bag, etc.) on boats less than 28 ft. long. If your boat is over 28 ft. and it has plenty of room to handle (inflate, deflate, roll up, etc.) then the 8x12 is a good choice.
Can I go underway with it on? Yes, up to 45 mph when fastened in place in the 'underway position'.
How heavy is Sebba shade? Total weight of the shade, straps, and backpack = 17 lbs (7.7 kg). The 6x9 is 11 lbs.
How big is the 8x12 backpack? 24” tall by 14” wide when filled with Sebba Shade and straps.
How big is the 6x9 cinch bag? 24” tall by 14” wide when filled with Sebba Shade and straps.
Does the entire shade inflate? No, just the perimeter and the two struts across the middle. This allows for quick inflation to 6.0-8.0 PSI, creating high pressure, high strength tubes and low-weight maneuverability.
Can it be used on a boat that doesn’t have a T-top, arch, or bimini? No. It needs something to rest on.
How does it attach to the boat? The 8x12 has stainless steel carabiner clips and buckle straps of various lengths to attach to just about anything on a boat. The 6x9 uses a simpler technology with nylon "pigtail" anchor points and cords (no metal clips required for the 6x9).
Does it float? Yes, it can also be used as a floaty.
How long does it take to inflate? About two minutes with a hand pump or a electric pump. That's right, a hand pump is just as fast as an electric pump.
Does a pump come with the Sebba Shade? No, just like the pumps used for kiteboarding, stand up paddle boards (SUP), and blow up kayaks, they are sold separately. In fact, those same pumps can also be used with Sebba Shade with the universal pump valve adapter.
What pressure is required for inflation? Set your electric pump to 6.0 - 8.0 PSI MAXIMUM. For comparison, Stand Up Paddleboards are typically inflated to 12-15 PSI (and take much longer to inflate).
What kind of pump do you recommend? There are dozens of choices ranging from $40 to $140. Search (google, amazon, etc.) for "kiteboarding pump or “stand up paddleboard pump” and choose one.
Can you do custom logos and print and colors? Not at this time, but in the near future.
Can I use it on windy days? With care and correct handling, yes. See instruction manual provided with your purchase.
Can I return it if I don’t like it? Yes. If for any reason you are not satisfied with Sebba Shade, return it undamaged within 30 days for a full refund.
What is the warranty policy? Sebba Shade will be free from defects for a period of 1 (one) year from the date of purchase. See warranty HERE.
